Shortly after the new site was launched, we realized that the hero image we had in place on the many "treatments" pages was too specific for use across all of the various ailments covered by UCSF Health. We needed something more generic, yet at the same time, spoke to the many options offered.

Starting with some existing elements to establish style, and after a couple versions and a bit of brainstorming, I opted for a "molecular model" theme, which I think worked very well for this use.
